Re: LCD display works but is not accessible from Domoticz
I just checked the code, and as far as I can see only three commands were implemented: on, off and clear. Obviously the author wanted to keep the code lean and mean... The one command I am really missing is clearline. I want to use the four lines independently, and sometimes characters remain on the...

Re: LCD display works but is not accessible from Domoticz
glad it worked! i think there are not so many options, however you could check the ESPEasy Core code and the included lcd plugin for further information on commands. just load the latest source from github and load into arduino IDE. I think I will do that as soon as I can find the time, and then pe...

Re: LCD display works but is not accessible from Domoticz
Yes, that did it! I can now send commands from the dummy device or from LUA, which opens up the door to what I want: a message box to which I can send status and warning messages. Great.
Is there a list of commands for the LCD? I see on, off and clear in the Wiki. Anything else?

LCD display works but is not accessible from Domoticz
I attached a J204A display to a NodeMCU and configured it according to the example in the Wiki: put the uptime in line 1, and some test lines in 2, 3 and 4. It comes up just fine: first text ESPEasy, then the 4 lines, and backlit mode switches off after a while. I tried to send these commands from a...

Remco is the name of a 3D printer enthousiast, I'm sure he follows this forum so I expected this would trigger him to jump in.

Re: Wifi IoT Relay Board Based on ESP8266
It's a pity that they charge extra for shipping. I can get a Sonoff at Ali for $7. Of course the Sonoff has a single relay, this board has a double.
Hope it will be in Ali shop over time.

Re: New ESP gadget
I used V78, so no rules in EasyESP I think.
For now I solved it in Domoticz, almost 100% correct (small problem synchronizing the state of the pushbutton between device and Domoticz)

Re: New ESP gadget
OK. I found a source for $7, including shipping. So unless I want to order 5 units this is cheaper. In Domoticz I was able to control the LED, and pick up on the pushbutton. So far so good. Now for the next step: can I control the relay and the LED from the same device? This would need me to put two...

Re: New ESP gadget
OK, got it. As it turns out my usb/serial device contains a "fake" PL2303, which is detected and refused by the latest drivers. Solution is to install an old version of the driver. After I did that, flashing EasyESP into the device was very simple. Installation into Domoticz was not as I e...

Re: New ESP gadget
OK, I got through step 1 (soldered a 4-pin male header). And found out that the inner pin is vcc, outer pin is gnd. The two pins in between must be TXD/RXD, not sure which is which. I connected these four to a serial adapter to USB, but the unit comes up in Windows device manager with a warning tria...

Re: New ESP gadget
I can see that this little gadget generates a lot of interest and creativity. But what if I want to go back to basics? I want to use this device as a built-in on/off switch, controllable from Domoticz/RFLink. Nothing else needs to be attached. What do I need to do? Guessing: 1. solder a 4-pin header...

BH1750 sensors arrived this morning. Took me 5 minutes to hook it up to a NodeMCU and get it working.
Not much of a challenge...
Now to find a suitable case for this new unit...

Re: Which LUX sensor
mmm China has arrived here.... When i have time ... Give the lux a try... Is it possible to set a lux and the Uv @ the 2 hardware pins? Or perhaps 2 lux sensors on these pins... I need more of then 1 sensor that is using the hardware pins I2C is a bus, so as long as your sensors have different base...

Which LUX sensor
I see that EasyESP supports two LUX sensors: BH170 and TSL2561. Which is the best choice? Based on price the BH1750 is slightly cheamer at $1,03, while TSL2561 is $1,66. Marginally cheaper, so I would rather choose the best. Any advice? Also, is there support for the simple (and no doubt: cheapest) ...

Re: ML8511 UV sensor
Jan, I haven't really thought about this yet. I bought a couple of these units just for fun, along with several other sensors. So I even don't have a clue yet on how to interpret the output. Will see when I get there. OK, so I can simply hook it up to a NodeMCU. Then in EasyESP, select which sensor?...

ML8511 UV sensor
Unit ML8511 is a reasonably priced UV sensor.
Can I hook this up to a NodeMCU?
If not, any chance of getting this supported in EasyESP?

freeze
I have two test Nodes running ESPEasy, both have a DSP18B20 sensor, and both are powered by a USB power unit. Both units have shown the occasional "freeze". The sensor turns red in Domoticz and never wakes up again. When I restart it (disconnect USB line and reconnect) it comes back online...

Re: Best Pin setup
Planning to build my first "real" NodeMCU units. One is easy, simply connect three DS18B20 sensors, I think to GPIO12. The second will have one DS18B20, a PIR sensor (hardware connected, simple on/off), and a rain detector (also simple on/off). I am planning to connect this way: GPIO 0 PI...
