Generate pseudo random IDs

For Self Learning Devices such as Dimmers from Nexa/Proove/Telldus etc. These remotes have a "unique" id, or Tellstick can generate id, when learning the receiver. Could the same functionality be added to RFLink firmware? It is very useful if you have lost the original remote. Or is it possible for the Stuntteam to disclose the supported ID/SWITCH value-range for each protocol?
