power plug for arduino mega

Hi all,
I don't know if I have to plug the power (12v) to arduino mega or if power through usb is it the best way ?
maybe for a best signal, I must connected the 12v power no ?

In most cases the USB power is enough.
If you are connecting multiple transceivers and gpio you might want to use a separate power supply.
