Timeout between reception of different weather sensors

#1 Post by david » 09 Oct 2017, 14:13

Hi,

I have bought a "RFLink 433.92 / Arduino / Dipole / USB cable" at Nodo shop.
I have several Banggood SKU174397 (Alecto V4) weather sensors.

I notice if one sensor or multiple sensors send measures in less than 5 secondes between transmits, only one measure is seen in minicom on my computer or in Domoticz.

I would like to connect 12 Banggood weather sensors, each sensor send a measure approximatly every 35 secondes.
Is there a workaround ?

Thanks for your help

If your sensors transmit frequently and also send their data for a fairly long duration.. then just do the math..
On the cheaper sensors the interval is often also not so exact.
Also note that it will not just affect receiving but also affect transmitting.
Maybe buy some proper sensors that update once per 1 to 1.5 minutes?

I have done the math : 12 (sensors) x 5 (sec. time out) = 60 sec > 35 sec (frequency of measures update)

This information is rarely present when you buy sensors

From your answer, I suppose the time out of 5 sec between transmissions and/or receptions is real.
It seems to be very long, what explain that ? Arduino ? software ?
Also, there is no informations about the performance of RFLink nowhere ...

This would only be the case if your sensor transmits for 5 seconds. This is known to happen with some cheap PIR and door sensors.. but for sure is not the case with most other sensors.
