RF-Link/NRF24L01+

#1 Post by Bassie » 05 Feb 2017, 21:19

I bought a RF-link set (https://www.nodo-shop.nl/nl/rflink-gate ... kabel.html) with a NRF24L01+-module, for sending MiLight-signals.
I'll add it to my RPi3 with Domoticz, already with a RFXCOM.

I put it together like this:

On the PC I can upgrade the firmware R45 allright.
I can see Domoticz recognizes it in the logs, but no signals are intercepted when pushing the buttons on the remote (https://www.ledstripkoning.nl/accessoir ... light-los/).
I also read I should push the "MiLight: ON"-button, but this button is greyed out/disabled.

I also cannot turn on "Serial Port Logging":

Code: Select all

------------------------------
Serial Log mode:
Port COM7
------------------------------
ERROR: Serial port already open?
No handle, attempting to close port
Please retry
Serial port status: 5
Retry: Port COM7
ERROR: Serial port already open?
No handle, attempting to close port
Please retry
Serial port status: 5
Does anyone have any advice that can help me further?

The NRF placed on the NODO PCB is used for the NODO communication. If you want to use this for MiLight you have to add a second NRF24L01+. It is possible to use the same power and ground as the alread placed NRF but the other wires are different.

Please see this link: http://www.nemcon.nl/blog2/wiring for additional details.

The wiring for MiLight:

Pin 1 = (Ground) = Ground
Pin 2 = (VCC) = VCC (3.3 volt) Warning: Max 3.6 volt, do NOT connect to 5 volt!
Pin 3 = (CE) = MEGA Pin 48
Pin 4 = (CS) = MEGA Pin 49
Pin 5 = (SCK) = MEGA Pin 52
Pin 6 = (MOSI) = MEGA Pin 51
Pin 7 = (MISO) = MEGA Pin 50
Pin 8 = (IRQ) = Not Connected

Note: the new milight protocol (RGBWW) is currently not supported.

It depends on the version of the PCB..

Ah, I didn't now that. So newer versions support MiLight directly? I was looking for a PCB which supports both.

FYI:
Turns out it had something to do with the com-port.
Tried changing settings in Device Manager and fiddled with Arduino IDE driver, all to no avail.

But then attached the RF-Link set to another computer, and I was able to enable "Serial Port Logging" and "MiLight" immediately.
Working oké now!
