Variables + MQTT + LC Display

#1 Post by foskolo » 05 May 2018, 13:28

Hi,

I want to create a system to monitor some temperatures in my house and in my garden.

For the sensors I use some solar powered Wemos D1 Mini with a HTU21D. A MQTT server (Mosquitto) receives the data and they are displayed in Node Red. Then I would like to import them back in the Wemos (subscribe/publish) and display them with a 2x16 LC display.

All works fine. The sensors send the data and I can receive and display them with Node Red without problems. The data are then imported in the Wemos D1 (Generic MQTT import) and I can see them well on the page Devices at the Generic - MQTT Import row.

My problem is: how can I display these data on the 2x16 display attached (I2C) to the Wemos?

How can I access to these variables (temperature and humidity) and what is the syntax to put them in the in the rows of the display?

I tried for example with the simple name "Temperature" (but the output is only the word "Temperature", not the value).

Kindly regards

Enzo
