Project advice - Lighting Control

#1 Post by GraemeG » 22 Mar 2018, 19:40

Hi
I've been browsing this forum and getting ideas :) but I thought I'd throw this out there to those with more experience..

If you needed to control 5 banks of incandescent lights (say 300W max per bank) with on/off/dim via wifi/rf what would you do?

I've looked at using two 4 channel sonoff units (although I haven't confirmed I can get PWM control to four MPDMv4 boards to provide the dimming).

I've looked at using four sonoff units, each with PWM out to an MPDMv4 board.

I've looked at using one ESP8266 board + one PCA9685 + five MPDMv4 boards. (although that doesn't isolate as well)

Am I missing anything here?

I would say one of the issues with some of the above is that I would prefer that the solution run over 5Ghz wifi (as I don't really use 2.4Ghz now)

Any pointers would be most appreciated :)

Regards
G2
