Rules explained

#1 Post by joyNstay » 11 Jul 2018, 15:25

Hi I want to create a system with node red and a ESP easy. I wand to create a UI and from that UI to pass some "rules" that Sonoff have to follow. The problem is that I am not sure if this is possible with ESP easy. If I have understood correctly when I flash the ESPeasy to Sonoff I have access to a webpage that I can control the Sonoff. There I can find a page called rules that I can summit some rules that the Sonoff will follow whatever it happends. For example if I that the switch to open and close every 8 hours that with happen both when it is connected to the wifi and when something goes wrong and disconnects from it. But is it possible to create a UI that makes it easier for the end user to set that rules or maybe change them whenever he wants? What should I look at? I just have start to look at ESP easy and I don't know much about the architecture of the software. Any help will be appreciated!
Thank you!

You can get a lot of the information of the current state via the url <ip>/json
Sending commands can be done via simple HTTP GET statements: https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/inde ... _Reference
N.B. not all commands are available via http, for security reasons.

Updating the rules is a bit tricky and not possible at this moment via commands.
