ESP8266 12E uploading easy firmware

#1 Post by tvasudev007 » 30 Nov 2015, 14:01

Can someone tell me about circuit connections & configuration of settings using arduino IDE for ESP8266 12E module for uploading easy esp8266 firmware.

I uploaded the firmware into esp8266 01 & its working. But unable to upload it to esp8266 12E module. What type of Board should I select in Arduino Board Manager for 12E model.? What are circuit connections?

Currently my connections are as follows

GND - GPIO 00 , GPIO 15 , GND
VCC- GPIO02 , EN(CH_PD) ,VCC
RX-TX
TX-RX.

Is this correct? I am able to successfully upload using Sparkfun esp8266 thing and also using NODEMCU 12E

Hi,

I also have problems with flashing my ESP-12E.
I also get garbage data on several baudrate's with putty.
When I normally connect the ESP (not in flashing mode) I see the hotspot of the ESP,
but I'm not able to get serial communication going with this ESP.

Do you have normal data when you connect your ESP to putty?

I do not have a 12E, but I do have several 12s active.
Below is how I utilize them:

You have to pull GPIO-00 to ground and toggle the RST terminal when you want to program it.
I use the Huzzah board setting to program it, but for the ESP-12E, you could try NodeMCU 1.0.
