Unable to Flash Deep-Sleep-Modded ESP-01

Hello,

I was hoping for some help flashing ESP-Easy to my ESP-01

It was working perfectly. And then, because I wanted to extend the battery life of my project i followed these instructions to enable deep-sleep

I foolishly then decided to put the latest version of ESP-Easy on it.

When I try and flash the ESP it looks like it has worked successfully but when I restart it the blue activity light is flickering constantly.

When i flash another ESP-01 that i have as a spare it works perfectly.

Adding the "mod" to give me deep-sleep seems to have "broken" something.

I am tempted to un-solder the wire but I had to get a friend to do the soldering as it was to difficult for me and I don't really want to bother him again

Can anyone offer any suggestions on what to do?

I have disconnected the wire from the RST pin and it still has the same problem.

No idea what I have done to this chip.

I would think that the update scrambled the settings. A null flash (flashing with an empty bin file) and then flash with latest will work.
