CSE7759B Power Sensor

#1 Post by seersucker » 08 Jul 2023, 22:28

Hello, a recently-purchased Sonoff POWR316D Elite uses a CSE7759B power sensor chip. This seems to be incompatible with the CSE7766 plugin. I tried various combinations of Serial ports, and disabled the Serial console, but no go. I am I missing something?

Hmm that's strange as I am also using a Sonoff POW R316D.
I configured it to use "HW Serial2"
ESP RX GPIO ← TX: GPIO-16

U Ref: 1946
I Ref: 16650
P Ref: 5422

Hmm...I copied your settings, and lo and behold....

And the display works nicely as well, thanks for all your work!

I intend to use it with Node-Red as a mains Brownout/Blackout detector to shut down various gizmos running on UPS when the mains power fails. (This happens several times a year and is generally due to drunk drivers demolishing power poles :( )

As far a I can remember, the measured part is after the relay, so keep that in mind when writing automations :)

And I'm glad Sonoff didn't change parts without changing the model number of their product.
So thanks for getting back on this.
