Force to choose another accesspoint

In the past, when I flashed the NodeMCU and I configured ESPeasy, the software chosed to select the router as accesspoint. That device was close to my desk.

But when everything was up and running I decided to mount the NodeMCU in my garage. And than the signalstrengh was worse, even bad.

So last week I bought a accesspoint (wired and powered by POE, TP-Link model EAP235-Wall) and mounted that in my garage, close to the nodemcu. I expected that ESPeasy should be quick.. But even after a reboot no difference at all. Still slow... Easpeasy tries to connect to a weak signal, even when there is a very strong signal.



This are the results when I do a scan with Tools, Scan..



I am a bit scared to choose the disconnect button in the Tools, Wifi. Could not find any info about that option.

Is it posible to force another source or accesspoint in ESPeasy?

If you power cycle the ESP, it will 'forget' to which exact AP it was connected.
And thus it is forced to do a WiFi scan and then will sort based on RSSI and connect to the strongest matching one first.

You are right! Again!

I learned: a reboot in ESPEasy is not the same as a power-cycle.

Unfortunately I tested that option but the accesspoint started later; to slow.

Just to explain the differences....

The last used AP is being stored in RTC memory.
This memory will survive reboots/crashes and even OTA updates as long as the unit keeps having power.
This is done to make sure a unit will stay on a connection once it is deemed to be "stable" for a while.

After power cycle, this RTC memory is cleared.
Also if a connection is lost for more than 2 times within 5 minutes, it will also clear the last used BSSID from RTC memory and start over doing a full WiFi scan.
