Begginers' documentation not really availlable, right?

Hi all,

I am at the very basic first steps with microcontrollers and have spent hours and hours now reading online ressources.
I scanned the rflink HP, also the related wiki.

As far, as I understood, I can use an Mega2560 with an RFB6 to enable my linux PC to scan and connect some RF (433MHz) devices I have here and to integrate them into my smarthome solution.
That is my target application, reading some remote thermometer, take over controlling some shuts.

There is a lot of detail information availlable, but unfortunately not much for beginners, like p.e. a step by step tutorial for setting up/building an usb device.

Only things I found was some ways to do RFLink with raspberry PI and a lot of outdated stuff(2007 and beyond).

So do you maybe have some good links or document for me, that describes the basic way to build and flash a mega2560 to use it as usb dongle with Linux?

Best regards
iobn
