Re: IFTTT Maker

Just a thought, would the pulse counter not work for the doorbell?
It might still take 5 seconds to read the single pulse but should be reliable.

Iv'e been using the pulse counter plugin for a water meter and it seems spot-on.

Re: Missing IDX on Output - Domoticz MQTT Helper

I had assumed that because the output doesn't return a message, the senddata flag wasn't required. For me to be happy that an output has been activated (message not lost or whatever) I usually configure a button input on the same gpio to send status back. *** Please, Please *** It would really help ...

Re: Domoticz Output by name not gpio?

God idea. Thanks!
I've been hacking around with the plugin to try and get it working.

Domoticz Output by name not gpio?

I would find it very helpful to switch outputs by name rather than by the /gpio/x syntax. Eg, /device/power/relay which is set up in devices as such.
Is this possible and am I just missing something?
Thanks

Re: is the DS1820 a supported device ?

It's worth trying both active and passive power.
I've only used the b version but, oddly, some would only work one way or the other.

old / new MQTT for gpio

Release notes say:

// R127 04-09-2016
// Fixed the situation where using the old style MQTT gpio/pwm commands left event-Par3 uninitialized.
// causing an 'endless' delay using pwm command

Can anyone tell me what the old and new command formats are please?
I don't know which I'm using!

Thanks.

Re: current measure

Sonoff were promising a switch that returns the power consumption of the load.
Seems to have vanished from their website.

I'm waiting for some ACS758 devices. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150653947908

There are code snippets to get this going.

I will report back....

Easier way to hold a solenoid on pwm?

I'm operating a number of solenoid valves to control irrigation. The valves need 12v to operate but will then happily stay operated at 5v. Only way I could think of was to use a rule with a one second timer to operate the valve and then switch to pwm at 512. It works but also needs another gpio (4) ...

Re: Feature Request collection/list

I would like to be able to set Dummy Device variables from MQTT / HTTP. This would allow for rules that can be changed externally. I'm thinking specially of timers but pwm or servo could be useful too. As a kludge, is it possible to read a level set for pwm or servo motor control? The docs only show...

Re: Introducing the Dummy Device on ESP Easy (Github R118!)

Is there any way to set a value (floating point) into a Dummy variable from 'outside', preferably for me by MQTT?
This would allow controlled timers, RGB values, pwm rates and the like.

Dummy Device and MQTT

Is there a way to set the dummy device variables through MQTT?
I want to setup timers in rules that can be varied by MQTT.
Have tried the obvious syntax options with no luck.
Anyone know how to do this or is it not possible?

Syslog Server Windows. Small and Free

All the syslog servers I could find were big and very commercial.
This one isn't. Seems to work a treat.

Re: New ESP gadget

I've had a good look at this device and am quite happy with the quality of construction for such a low cost offering. As a convert from electrical engineering, through semiconductor work and into software, it's as decently constructed as the great majority of cheap devices. A couple of points though...

Hello from Tarragona, Spain

Hello all. I'm semi-retired and working on off-grid home automation. Our house is solar powered and it's important to measure, log and control our energy resources. I'm using a mix of Sonoff, Olimex and home built boards. ESPEasy is so far ahead of the other options it's a no-brainer. Thanks all, re...
