If you want to build your own, you also need to select a "custom" build env. in PlatformIO. Only on those builds, the content of Custom.h (with capital C) is used. i know you're the main guy on this.... and i've been using ESPEasy for YEARS now so i say this with plenty of respect but...a...

I self compile fairly regularly and I use 1.8.7 and I haven't had any troubles. I think I did one a couple days ago without issue... can you please try with last release? i try one month ago or a bit later without any problems...but with last release i find this error :( i copy paste the library in...

i don't see anything in the commits... but im not that good at deciphering what's going on in github. hopefully it releases the servo after some allotted amount of time after a movement.

also, it sounds like you're trying to send commands *to* the esp via MQTT. you'll need the MQTT-Import plugin for that.

My units have been dropping MQTT about once a day for many days now but I've never checked for the 0.0.0.0
at least with the mqtt#connected i can alert openhab to resend commands.
