Re: Sleep mode still a problem?
Have you had a chance to test this out? I've just flashed the latest 20180822 and it looks like I am encountering similar issue. I'm using MQTT to OpenHAB. My setup - 1st device - analog input (to measure battery) 2nd device - BME280 With the previous 20180716, I have the following settings - Sleep ...

Yes. I've got some temperature/humidity sensors going into deep sleep and sending data every 10 minutes.

Hey all First of all, thanks to Edwin for jumping in. We sure need to keep this going as it has been such a fun platform to play with and use. I've been using this with OpenHAB for quite a while now, building addons and automating a lot of the stuff at home like my garage door, lights, security syst...

Shouldn't the rule be -
TaskValueSet 6,1,%eventvalue%
as you only have one value since you're using "SENSOR_TYPE_SINGLE"?

Not sure if this might help, I've got an esp in my Hotspring spa which I've converted to be "WiFi" enabled. The esp also control the temperature of the spa. I had problem figuring out how to have a variable like set temperature and then do things like compare the water temperature and turn...

Re: LCD2004 - How do I enter a special characer like a degree character?
I'm not sure if you can as the HD44780 only has a limited character set as far as I know - http://www.electronic-engineering.ch/microchip/datasheets/lcd/charset.gif So, basically looking at the table, the "degree" symbol is at the bottom right of the table. The way to read the ASCII code i...

I am assuming that you're trying to enter the text in the device line screen. If that is the case you can try this - Outside: 25ßC If you're sending the info to the display via http, you can try - sendHttpGetRequest("http://xx.xx.xx.xx/control?cmd=lcd,1,1,Outside:%2025%DFC") Or from a web ...

You got a point there. If your car is too close to the door when it is properly parked, it will still be triggering the sensor. Maybe try one of these cheap photo electric switch - http://tiny.cc/m4yufy http://tiny.cc/96yufy Or maybe switch the laser ie: turn on laser, check sensor and if there is n...

Re: use esp easy to open/close garage door with a relay ?
Certainly manjh, if you have a spare sonoff you can use. You will need to modify it a bit as the relay in a standard sonoff is switching live power. If you cut the tracks from the live power to the relay, then you can use it to open and close the garage door. For me, all my sonoff are being used to ...

Hey Luca, welcome! You should also have a look at OpenHAB if you get the chance. I started with Domoticz initially but switched to OpenHAB because of the ability to create fairly nice user interface which you can use via a web browser or an app on Android or IOS. It's definitely a steeper learning c...

Re: ATO (Automatic Top Off)
As you can enable an internal "pull Up" resistor on the ESP, it will be easier to connect one wire from the switch to one of the GPIO and then other wire to ground/0V. I have a similar config for my garage door sensor using a reed switch connected to GPIO-12 and a magnet - switch.jpg So wh...

Re: use esp easy to open/close garage door with a relay ?
Hi Alen Depending on what garage door opener you have, it might actually be easier and cheaper to use a general purpose NPN transistor and a 1K resistor. An easy way to figure out how to connect it is to measure the voltage of the two wires going to your local hardwired door control switch. The hard...

Re: Battery status / level
Hi Fabian It should be fairly easy to implement using a voltage divider and feeding the voltage to the ADC input of the ESP. I'm using an ESP-12E module and the ADC input is on pin 2. You need the voltage divider because the ADC input can only take a max of around 1V. Since you're using 3V, one opti...

Re: newbee question
Did you put in the pull up resistor on the data pin? I'm not too familiar with the ESP-1, but I am going to assume that it should work the same like the ESP-12E I'm using. Did you also select the right GPIO? From what I can see from the web, you have either GPIO0 or GPIO2.
