so, if i understand well, if i have a sonoff or esp8266 with 1mb of memory where i flashed a normal build and i would like to update it with a newer version normal build is not possible using OTA, correct?

If you compile your own fw, you can have enough space to upload the OTA bin. I have already do it with recent Mega without any issues. I might be remembering incorrectly but you should use the same task number on both units, same name etc. But remember that you cannot have two tasks with the same name on the same unit so you need to make sure that those two DHT22 are named the same. i set on bot ESP 198 and 195 espeasy p2p network...
