Re: mega-20210503 doesn't compile on Arduino 1.8.15

The core 3.0.x is only available since a few weeks now and I do have a pull request pending to be able to use the new core. The reason I have not yet merged it, is because each build feels somewhat like a hit-or-miss whether it is stable. Not sure yet what is causing it. I may have to take another l...

Re: Serial Communication

I can see why the other way around is difficult as there is no clear "end of message".

Not sure how it can be fixed without code change in the plugin.

Also the SerialProxy plugin isn't usable here as it doesn't allow to translate binary data to/from HEX.

Re: mega-20210503 doesn't compile on Arduino 1.8.15

Looks like you're using esp8266/Arduino core 3.0.x instead of core 2.7.4
Can you please check this?

Also the selected flash layout will give the next build error as we're never going to fit in 470 kB.
Please select 128k SPIFFS, the rest for sketch size.

With context I meant the surrounding lines so I can see where you're getting the error.

I did compare it with the latest source and I suggest to use the latest source as it is more stable regarding WiFi reconnects.

Re: Set value of a device (tskname) via HTTP request – How?

The IDX value for a task is only presented when a controller is linked to the task which is able to use the IDX field.
There are not many of those controllers.
And since it is a field per controller, you may have upto 3 IDX values for a task.

There are other controllers too that use the IDX field, but it was mainly intended for Domoticz as that one really needs the IDX to distinguish the origin of a value. You must press the button and then let the PC start I assume?

What happens if the PC is put to sleep? I can imagine the power may drop below 80 mA since that's already over 17 Watt considering 230V mains voltage.
