Re: Addressable Temperature Sensors

No I still have not found a solution. The application is for temperature monitoring in multiple greenhouses. Several are side by side but a couple have a driveway between them. Running wires between the greenhouses is not desired. The owner is looking for a wireless solution. Battery powered would b...

Re: How To? Multiple Source MQTT Publishing

Thanks! That was the information I was looking for. I didn't see any reason why naming the 4 espeasy devices with the same name would cause any conflict within themselves. I'll move forward with building additional button panels. Espeasy has really made it possible for non-coders like myself to acco...

How To? Multiple Source MQTT Publishing

Using Node Red to control lights with MQTT. Currently I have one esp8266 running espeasy and 4 inputs with pushbuttons each with its own topic. So far it works great! Now I'm thinking I could use maybe 3 more of these esp8266s with pushbuttons in various parts of my house. Instead of having 4 indivi...

Re: Addressable Temperature Sensors

Looks like the RN2483 is only available as a standalone radio chip? Any ESP devices running it imbedded? I thought it would be an advantage to find an existing temp sensor already in a rain proof enclosure with a battery. Instead of having to create my own design with individual components. So far I...

Re: Addressable Temperature Sensors

I'm a HUGE fan of esp easy!
But yes I was looking for something battery powered.
Also was looking for something with better range than wifi. I've used Wemos, esp8266 and sonoff devices with very very poor range.

Re: Addressable Temperature Sensors

Running wire between the locations is not practical. In a couple locations, there is a driveway between sensor locations.

Addressable Temperature Sensors

I have an application where RFLink might work. It involves using 6-8 temperature sensors in different close proximity locations. Does anyone know of any off the shelf weatherproof temperature sensors that are addressable so their temperature data can be decoded on a individual sensor output? This wo...

Silly question......I assume the easy mega 1M version supports full mqtt including status reports from the Mini of it's on/off status and RSSI?

Re: SONOFF MINI

Steady hands! I have seen 3D printer plans for a drop in programming fixture that uses pogo pins to make contact with the circuit board pads. Also good to know the easy mega normal 1 meg works in the Mini. Currently I'm just pushing http commands but it would sure be nice to use mqtt and get status ...

Re: SONOFF MINI

Yes that is what I found works for now. It would be nice to use mqtt and get status messages back from the mini. Looks like 3D printing a programming jig with pogo pins will be needed before flashing anything via the serial port.

Re: SONOFF MINI

Bumping this thread...........has anyone successfully flashed espeasy to a sonoff mini?
Getting ready to try and wanted to know if there was anything special I should know?
I've done several other devices but this is the first mini.

Re: MQTT Devices Aren't Publishing

Regarding updating, when I go to the wiki, it appears the same R120 version listed as stable is what I used about a year ago.
Is there a newer "stable" version that I am not seeing?

Re: MQTT Devices Aren't Publishing

I'll plan on updating to the latest version hopefully this weekend. It may be that monitoring the output of the Mosca MQTT broker with a debug node in Node Red doesn't display all of it's traffic like I assumed? The Mosca node has an "output" to attach another node to. But maybe it isn't f...

MQTT Devices Aren't Publishing

This used to work, but now that I have more time, something broke. Running mega-10180126 on a Adafruit Feather. For testing have 2 generic system info devices for RSSI and Uptime. Task are enabled and assigned a Controller. The Controller using openhab points to a Mosca broker in Node Red running on...

Re: How To Activate An Output w/MQTT & No Rules

After spending hours of trying different topic phrases without success, I have given up on MQTT and switched to HTTP. I had success with the very first HTTP command.
But I will keep looking for examples or tutorials from someone else that has been able to get this to working using Node Red.

Re: How To Activate An Output w/MQTT & No Rules

That's where I get confused. To me a switch is an input signal to the 8266. I have been using output since it is a signal coming out of the 8266 to the relay.

Re: How To Activate An Output w/MQTT & No Rules

I have two ESP8266s with Mega and would like to be able to send it MQTT commands via Node Red to activate output pins to control relays. How To Activate An Output w/MQTT & No Rules

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to activate an output using MQTT without writing a rule?
I already have a broker running and can read inputs. Just can't figure out how to send a MQTT topic to turn on an output.

Re: Longer Range?

Thanks Shardan. I just received a couple of Wemos d1 minis with external antenna connectors and have a 12db gain patch antenna to try. I think clear line of sight will be fine but 2.4 GHz isn't going to give much penetration of walls. I've looked around at 900 MHz but it appears I'm on my own to de...

I've been blown away with the ease and simplicity of using esp easy and various esp8266 modules for temperature monitoring and publishing the data using mqtt.
