Re: ESP WiFi Hacked

Many thanks. Would love to see ESPEasy also feature a VPN client, so even between client and server there is a level of encryption. Great for deploying a device on a foreign network, or even just for Point 2 Point security!?

Variable speed DC motor

Just starting a new project - a water feature which besides many things needs a low current variable water pump controllable by a ESP. I've chosen the Wemos D1 Mini for this project, and a 12V DC motor. Has anyone experience in controlling the speed of DC motors through ESP Easy? I'm awaiting the ar...

Re: No I2C with Sonoff 4CH R2

Q1. Trawling the internet it would seem that GPIO 01 and GPIO 03 are used for I2C. Does anyone else concur? As far as I know the standard I2C pins are GPIO4 and GPIO5 and I use them in quite few projects.... Here is the known GPIO list for the Sonoff 4CH R2: GPIO 00 - Button 1 GPIO 04 - Relay 3 GPI...

No I2C with Sonoff 4CH R2

Just diving into a Sonoff 4CH R2 which provides 4x relay outputs, a couple of unused GPIO pins on the board and 4x inputs tied to buttons. I want to add an MCP23017 port expander to gain some more useful IO on the side and also for an OLED screen. Q1. Trawling the internet it would seem that GPIO 01...

Input pulse detection

Hello all I am connecting my ESP8266 with ESPEasy to a device which unfortunately outputs 4 states from one auxiliary output terminal of an alarm panel. It differentiates the 4 states by pulses. ---Armed/Disarmed--- 1 pulse (on,off - approx 0.5secs high/low) = change state 'disarmed' to state 'armed...

Re: Wired Ethernet / PoE

Thanks for your comments. POE is hardware, so not really an issue. It's not true that where you can get a cable you can get WiFi, and I did say some devices are in environments that cannot have an RF signal. Putting POE aside, I thought that the SPI connection to the Wiznet modules (as used with ard...

Wired Ethernet / PoE

I love using the ESP8266 with EasyESP. I've designed new hardware for my projects, and find the firmware really easy to use - thank you. Unfortunately I have a stumbling block. Some environments where I'd want to deploy my devices do not either permit the use of WiFi as a technology or WiFi simply i...
