Re: Limiting data transfer
Hi @budman1758, Thanks for that. Yes, I'm starting to think that the various "delays" (there are three in different places) may provide much of the control I need. Yesterday I did some more searching in the forum and came across a very good summary by @Shardan (here: https://letscontrolit....

Nice! Thanks guys, I really like the way these new Wiki sections are shaping up. As a relative newbie, learning as I go, it will make using the full range of ESPEasy capabilities so much easier!

Re: Limiting data transfer
Hello krikk, Thanks for the quick reply and the tip about InfluxDB. Yes, I'll be able to make some improvements in the InfluxDB persistence, and that will help with the storage end of things. All the same, I would still like to reduce the amount of "unnecessary" data-values at the start of...

Limiting data transfer
Hi everyone, I use a number of ESPeasy nodes (mostly NodeMCUs) which publish data to OpenHAB2 (openhabianpi) using Mosquitto, then the system saves values in an InfluxDB database and graphs them in Grafana. It works pretty well, but I find I'm storing a lot of data. Often the system is storing a new...

Re: Size Matters: Dynamic Linking, Flexible builds etc.
I agree with @roman, this is a problem. @Shardan, I like your click-box idea. Quite recently I have seen a table/list of plugin memory sizes, but I'm having trouble finding it again now!! Even nicer would be if the memory sizes were presented alongside the click-boxes in some sort of interface befor...

Logic Analyzer - looking for advice please
Hello all, I'd like to get a fairly cheap logic analyzer to use with ESP projects. I've looked on Aliexpress (thanks to Stuntteam on another thread for the tip) and there seems to be basically two common types offered. One is like "EZ-USB FX2LP CY7C68013A 51 Core Development Board EEPROM USB CY...

Re: Request for help with Plugin to measure mains AC current
Thanks for responses. The sensor module I am using also has a current transformer TA12-100, which provides complete isolation from mains (line) voltage. This was the big attraction. I am using this ESP8266/ESPeasy module to measure AC current consumption (and thus estimate power) for individual appl...

Re: Request for help with Plugin to measure mains AC current
Thanks papperone, I may end up going the same way as you or similar, but I'll keep trying a bit longer with the ESP8266 and ESPeasy plugin. It is working fairly well for me with the latest version of my plugin. There are just 2 remaining issues: 1. The readings agree with my plug-type meter at the m...

Re: Dooya remotes/motors
Hello twinsen,
I'm really interested to learn more about how you connect your RFlink equipment to Audacity, to enable you to see these waveforms. I can see that this could be very useful for all sorts of applications. Would you be willing to share how you do this, please?
Best wishes,
AndrewJ

Re: Request for help with Plugin to measure mains AC current
Hi all, Thanks Costo for the information about RMS, that is useful, but I wonder if the ESP8266 would handle all the calculations of squares etc. (I don't mind too much if the readings are not perfectly accurate, as I'm mainly interested in the trends of the data.) I've made some progress since my f...

Re: Plugins - how to upload to Playground?
Hi all, Thanks for the responses. There is obviously a lot of interest in Plugins and information to make them easier to use! Request for help with Plugin to measure mains AC current
I'm hoping someone with more experience of plugins than me will kindly offer some advice about a plugin I'm developing. At the moment, it works (sort of) but doesn't display its readings on the Devices page. My plugin is based on the existing Analog ADC Plugin (P002), and also uses interrupt code an...

Re: Plugins - how to upload to Playground?
I'm pleased to say that I have had my Plugin for AC mains current working in its present (rather rough and ready) form for over a month, so it appears that the ESP8266 can handle it. In fact, the same module (NodeMCU with 4096 flash memory) is also measuring three temperatures (DS18B20's) and has a ...

Re: Plugins - how to upload to Playground?
Hello @krikk, and thanks for the fast reply. My plugin is indeed based on the Henrys Bench code for the Arduino, and on the Analog Plugin you referred to. The reason I felt it would be desirable to construct a new plugin was as follows. As I'm wanting to measure mains alternating current at 50Hz, th...

Plugins - how to upload to Playground?
Hi everyone, Can anyone point me to a step by step guide how to upload a new plugin to the Playground on Github, please? I have one in development which I'd like to share and ask for help from forum members. It's for an Analogue AC current sensor TA12-100.
TIA.

Hi Keith,
Just getting back to this after a period where other things got in the way. I'm going to start a separate topic about it, as I'm having a few difficulties at present.

Thanks for the clear and comprehensive reply. Now I get it, I should have downloaded the zip file (not used the Windows Installer!).
Tried it the way you said and it's working, compiled and uploaded to my Sonoff Switch.
Thank you!

Re: ESP Easy development status
Hi, and thanks for all the good work! I really like ESPeasy and have it on several nodemcu modules. I'm now trying to install it on a Sonoff switch. I'm running Windows 10 and most of my experience is with the Arduino IDE rather than platformio. A couple of questions about the Arduino IDE tutorial, ...

Re: Hello from Shropshire, UK
Hi @Keith Hamilton, I've got it *partly* working as a plugin. It gives out what seem sensible power readings to mqtt, but for some reason it doesn't display them in the devices page. I need to do some testing to check accuracy too. At that stage I'll put it on github for other people to try out. Hth...

Hello forum,
I've recently discovered the ESPeasy firmware, what a fantastic project!
I've installed it on 3 nodemcus so far, and will be doing more. Currently working on an AC current /power plugin.
