Yes I did upload both bin file one after another within a minute from same computer. I think spiff is working because I hardcoded my access point and password and it saved it for me.

I was able to hard code some settings and esp device now connected as station on local network. But there is still no GUI and no serial communication. I am able to communicate via telnet.

You are right it is expensive if you buy board.B ut he replaced the chip directly on STM32 (blue pill ) with GD32 chip.But is it worth the effort ? may be not.He shows software part in his video between 23 & 28 minutes mark.Basically he used Naze32 bootloader to make it work.

I compiled latest firmware including ir receiver & irtransmit plugins.It compiled ok and everything works fine except it does not show ir receiver or ir transmit on devices page as a dropdown option to configure these 2 sensors.
