RFLink reception signal not stable

#1 Post by de.lesse.be » 17 Jun 2016, 21:00

Hi RFLinkers! 8-)

after an experience in the past with 433Mhz now tried the RFLink finally.
This works fine but the results are not always the same. I did build it with TX, RX and ESP ser2net. The basics works fine but the results are not always correct.
now removing parts to minimize the build.
Also tried with other power supply. same unstable results.
Tried the RF-5V and a 'super heterodyne" receiver. same results.
the only thing a didn't change was the arduino mega. So this can be the cause. should order another one to test.

So, i captured some traces when pressing the same button (on a 'ELRO AB440R' remote with diff DIP switch settings) with intervals. The results are not the same and this is annoying in domoticz to cover this. (If domoticz can cover this temporarily, please advice ;) )

Thanks!

Re: RFLink reception signal not stable

#2 Post by Stuntteam » 17 Jun 2016, 21:25

The detection of a single remote has nothing to do with rflink being unstable or not..
RFlink probably runs fine but the AB440 detection might need some adjustments.
I will do some tests here (I have a remote) and get back to you.

i have the same results with other devices. like PIR sensors (china - not the cheapest ones :D
example:

Stuntteam wrote:The detection of a single remote has nothing to do with rflink being unstable or not..
RFlink probably runs fine but the AB440 detection might need some adjustments.
I will do some tests here (I have a remote) and get back to you.
I now can confirm this is not a hardware issue (arduino/receiver)

As you told me it's correct the detection is not accurate of those specific devices.
Is there something specific i can do to get this working properly? ;)

examples: (just a random DIP-switch)
1on = 20;CE;AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=1;CMD=ON;
1off = 20;D8;AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=1;CMD=OFF; / 20;D9;AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=31;CMD=OFF;
4on = 20;FD;AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=4;CMD=ON;
4off = Kaku;ID=41;SWITCH=16;CMD=OFF; / AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=31;CMD=ON; / AB400D;ID=50;SWITCH=31;CMD=OFF;

not sure if it's better for this case.

example: (i keep now this DIP switches fixed on the remote)
1on: AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=1;CMD=ON;
1off: AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=1;CMD=OFF; / AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=1;CMD=ON; / AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=31;CMD=ON;

4on:AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=4;CMD=ON;
4off:Kaku;ID=4d;SWITCH=16;CMD=OFF; / AB400D;ID=44;SWITCH=31;CMD=OFF; / Kaku;ID=4d;SWITCH=16;CMD=ON;

if you need the debug logs for those specific codes i can send you those.

I have similar stability issue on RFLink for reception of my remote : get either Tristate, AB400d, Eurodomest or Kaku for the same remote.
Besides D button never get properly analyzed.
I have changed Rx chip - and now using Aurel - same symptoms.
Would R43 help?
Thanks

I am seeing this with R45 (and R37 and R44), too. Using an Elro AB400D compatible device the switch ID is randomly 31. If I repeatedly turn a switch on and off this will happen every 4th switching or so. I could reproduce this with two different remotes. I have already replaced the receiver (Now RXB6), the antenna and the Arduino mega. I have added an 100nf and an 10uf capacitor, too. This really looks like an bug to me. Especially because it is always the same wrong ID 31. And the House ID and the protocol are recognized correctly 99% of the time. (Rarely I see Kaku or TriState entries in the log)

Edit: An EV1527 PIR is detected correctly without any errors.

Hello,
is there a solution for the issue reported in this thread?

I use several Elro switches AB440S with remote AB440R and have the same issue with firmware R48, arduino mega, superheterodyne 433. If I press the same key, sometimes Kaku is detected instead of AB400D:

switch A off
22:29:41.775 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;5B;AB400D;ID=4e;SWITCH=1;CMD=OFF;"

switch B off
22:29:42.984 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;5C;AB400D;ID=4e;SWITCH=2;CMD=OFF;"

switch C off
22:29:44.044 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;5D;AB400D;ID=4e;SWITCH=3;CMD=OFF;"

switch D off
22:29:45.093 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;5E;Kaku;ID=43;SWITCH=16;CMD=OFF;"

same here, sometimes

different Remte:
switch A off
22:31:11.613 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;7B;AB400D;ID=48;SWITCH=1;CMD=OFF;"

switch B off
22:31:13.136 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;7C;AB400D;ID=48;SWITCH=2;CMD=OFF;"

switch C off
22:31:14.477 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;7D;Kaku;ID=49;SWITCH=8;CMD=OFF;"
22:32:59.723 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;90;Kaku;ID=49;SWITCH=8;CMD=OFF;"
22:33:04.892 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;91;Kaku;ID=49;SWITCH=8;CMD=OFF;"
sometimes switches to AB400D but wrong id/state:
22:33:05.105 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;92;AB400D;ID=48;SWITCH=31;CMD=ON;"
22:33:08.017 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;93;Kaku;ID=49;SWITCH=8;CMD=OFF;"

switch D off
22:31:16.303 [pimatic-rflink] debug: data: "20;7E;Kaku;ID=49;SWITCH=16;CMD=OFF;"

Is there a developement firmware which I can test?
