R46 - OWL CM113 readout resolution

#1 Post by lostboy » 25 May 2017, 12:36

Hi,
I have an OWL CM113A which I can monitor with the original display panel and an old RFxCOM receiver. On both the display and the RFxCOM the current readout resolution is 100mA - e.g. 5.8A / 11.2A etc.

On my just completed RFLink (using R46 firmware) I am seeing a decoded message from the same device that identifies itself as "OWL_CM113", and the logged values for current (e.g. "CURRENT1", "CURRENT2") look to be strings containing hex values that appear to represent an integer measure of current (amps) and so have a resolution in whole Amps e.g. 0006 / 000b.

I would like to be able to monitor the OWL using RFLink to the full resolution the unit is capable of. Is the RFLink decode capable of outputting the full resolution of the OWL device?

I'm using the nodo kit and I'm fairly confident it's assembled correctly as I'm receiving messages from a number of transmitting devices OK, and have also transmitted OK.

I've attached a couple of debug outputs below, together with the decoded output string.
Many thanks for any help or suggestions.

Chris

In the tests below the sensor is plugged into the CURRENT2 input in the OWL transmitter; the other inputs behave in the same way.

Test 1 - display showing 7.5Amps

I try to simulate your Test2 of the CM113 with my arduino and an RF433MHz with the code:

digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, HIGH);
delayMicroseconds(300);
digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, LOW);
delayMicroseconds(990);
digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, HIGH);
delayMicroseconds(270);
digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, LOW);
delayMicroseconds(510);
digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, HIGH);
delayMicroseconds(780);
digitalWrite(m_transmitterPin, LOW);
delayMicroseconds(990);
...
but the rflink R46 does not decode the message. My simulation should not send the same message

You are right.. we actually have the proper vvalues but loose precision due to division..
Will be solved to deliver proper values.

Check your email.

Thanks, the test version provides the right values (Hex integer representing current in 100mA steps, e.g. HEX 008e = DEC 142 = 14.2A current)

Hi @Stuntteam,

I have the same issue, so am hoping the next version of the RFLink firmware will have this higher resolution :)

Hi,
I am new on RFLink forum.
I am using RFLINK since 6 month and connected to Domoticz.
I would like to add some current sensor in 433MHz like CM113 in tri-phase, it will answer what i need.
Is it possible to have the reverse ingenering, I mean the Hexa frame sended by CM113 in ordre to do this with Arnuino nano and Tx ?
I have done it and simulate CM180 and it works fine, but only for One current value. but I didn't find working modele of CM113 Hexa frame.
Thanks in advance !
Best regards
Benoit

I also want if possible the Hexa frame sended by Oregon OWL CM113 in order to do a OWL CM113 with Arduino (I use a RFLINK last version R48 and Domoticz stable Version: 4.10717) ?
Regards
Michel
