Doorbells!?!

#1 Post by binbo » 09 Feb 2018, 10:53

Hi Guys,

I'm having such problems with doorbells - please can someone help!

I've got 4 different 433mhz doorbells now - I'm sick of buying them  But none of them work - with rflink

In compatible devices - it lists: 1 by One doorbell (Send + Receive) - But I have two 1 by one doorbell models - and neither work.

Id just like to buy 1 more doorbell set - if anyone in the UK has one working 100% "send and receive" with rflink and domoticz - and could send me the link to buy it!
(Or if there was a way to get any of my current ones working!)

Some of my lovely doorbell collection:

Thanks so much for the help.

Just an update - here is a full list of my doorbells...

Image
(Forget the non-1byone ones - they aren't listed in supported devices anyway)

I've found out now that the OLD 1byone doorbell works GREAT with rflink - the style with only 1 button on the side to change the sounds. (This is the 3rd set down on my list)

The problem is with the NEW style 1byone door bells - These are more advanced - and let you pair up multiple doorbells, and ringers. This only receives the doorbell presses domoticz --- and doesn't send the signal out to the doorbell plug-in part.

This wouldn't be a problem - except its very hard to get the old style 1byone doorbells now - it looks like they've upgraded their whole product line to the new easy chimes style.

Make debug logs so that we can add support for all of them..
Look here at how to do that:

I have the single black bell push 1byone chime, this works ok with RFLink.
Put the chime in learn mode (power on/off) or press learn button.
Send 10:Selectplus;;;; from link loader.

Hi Binbo,

Just wondered if you got this sorted in the end or if you sent your logs over? I purchased one of these doorbells the other day and would like to setup it up with RFLink, but wondering if I will get the same problem...

Cheers

Will.

No - to be honest - I never got it sorted - and it put a big hold on my grand home automation plan :(

I tried about 10 sets of doorbells - and none would work. Just kept buying different 433mhz doorbells from amazon.

The ONLY doorbell that would work is the old style of 1byOne (3rd image down in my list) — but 1byOne no longer make this style. (I was just lucky to have that as actual house doorbell from years ago!)

In the end - I had to use my 433 rfcom (what I had hopped my rflink would replace!) - as that actually works with the new 1byone doorbells.

I really hope rflink add support for the 1byone doorbells.

I’d happily buy the rflink team a set of these doorbells and PayPal over $100 If support was added in next update!

I had another discussion about doorbells at domoticz foeum if you wanted to follow along with that:

Hi Bino
The rflink development team have asked for logs in post #3... so they can look at adding support for the devices. Any chance of doing that?

Hi,

I'm having the same experience. I'm making a debug log now, and I send it to frankzirrone@gmail.com, is that still the valid email address for debug logs?

I own this device: The Aldi Lifetec MD 17177 system:

Image

I can add the push button to Domoticz with the automatic learning system. It is being added as a doorbell and stuff, and I can put notifications to it which work when I press the button. However I can't get Domoticz / RFLink to let the bell itself sound when I press the Doorbell button in Domoticz. So it looks like the button is working, but the bell is not. But I suppose Domoticz is just emulating the output of the button when I press it virtually in Domoticz?

My log is here:

Code: Select all

The rflink development team have asked for logs in post #3... so they can look at adding support for the devices. Any chance of doing that?
Cheers

Hi Willsy - I'm not on these forums much - but I DID send the logs to the development team on the 22nd Feb 2018 (frankzirrone@g****.com) -- I never got a reply, but didn't want to keep emailing you - incase you were busy.

PLEASE... Post an amazon Wishlist link to me here - and I will buy you the set of doorbells so you can get the logs/etc you need yourself

I'd like to buy the dev team this set - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PVBWH7M/ (as that's what I have!) - but im sure it will help a lot of people will doorbell issues.

I think doorbell are the best part of home automation - I'm lucky to have an rfxcom that is controlling my doorbells right now -- but i'd prefer just to use my rflink for everything.

Hi Binbo,

Thanks. Hopefully it will go into the next firmware release whenever that may be!

I've got those exact same doorbell. Like you I can get it to register one way only. I can't send a signal to the doorbell but I can receive the doorbell signal to Hassio.

Stunteam/Rflink Support: can you tell us if this 1 by 1 doorbell will be added in the next release as 2 way Comms capable?

Cheers

Will

Any updates on new firmware supporting any modern doorbells?

I could have sold so many pi/rflink systems now if u could get the doorbell working.

I’ll still buy the dev team a set of the doorbells to test with :)

Hiya Will

Just wondered if you could share your config for Hass.io? I have the same doorbell - which gets detected as a light. However if I then try and add it as a sensor or a switch, nothing happens (i only want the signal to be received so that I can run some automations) - Getting the bell to wring from HA is a nice to have for me :)

Any help would be appreciated as I am going round in circles adding it as a light, switch, sensor etc arggghhhh :)

Thanks
Neil

k9ndo wrote: 23 Mar 2018, 10:32 I have the single black bell push 1byone chime, this works ok with RFLink.
Put the chime in learn mode (power on/off) or press learn button.
Send 10:Selectplus;;;; from link loader.
Stumbled across this thread trying to get my black 1to1 door bell ringing from Domoticz.

Following the above advice I can get rflink link loader to send out a command. (10;SelectPlus;ID=xxx;01;ON;) Once I put the receiver into learn mode , it then rings on command.
So rflink is working.

However when I connect it up to my pi running Domoticz, the receiver does not ring whatever I do. It can read the door bell pushes fine. So same problem as others have stated.

Just wondering if there have been any further updates on getting this working.

It seems that the RF doorbell set being sold at Action is compatible. That set cost about 5 or 6 Euro.
