Activity Led

#1 Post by vmazmaz » 01 Apr 2020, 17:16

Hello,

I built my RFlink and could not be more happy with it ! Well technically I could, by adding a small LED to the receiver (RXB6) or/and transmitter (STX882) data lines to know when the gateway is receiving/transmitting (for visual purposes more than anything).
My question is the following : can I simply add a LED with a resistor between GND and data in/out or should I use a transistor to make sure I don't draw more current than what the Arduino can support ?

Thank you !

They seem to warn about not doing so as the ports are very weak. You have, OTOH a lot of extra GPIOs on the board you probably can use to achieve this. I'll investigate tomorrow as I'd like that too; meanwhile if you find a solution; tell me.

Cheers.
