Feature Request: Command to go into Sleep Mode

#1 Post by Elektrofreak » 18 Nov 2016, 07:32

Dear Developers,

I would like to request a feature.

I want to have my ESP8266 into active mode most of the time but I want to set it inso sleep mode via MQTT or HTTP in dedicated intervals (e.g. during night). Thus, I would need a command to manually trigger the sleep mode (e.g. from a FHEM-server in the network). With the right hardware configuration, it will automatically restart afterwards and wait for the next sleep mode command.

This would add the ability of selecting dynamically (e.g. rule based) between normal operation and sleep mode which could also be used in other scenarios.

Is it possible to add this feature? I guess this should be a very small change but could bring a lot of possibilities to projects!
