My Domotics-configuration has 2 Raspberries-with-Domoticz as controllers at the same LAN, of which one is a Raspberry3 having Wifi, as well as some ESP8266s.
With the present firmware you have to choose which controller is selected and hooked to LAN or to Wifi.
Although the operation of the ESPs and the Raspberries is reasonably robust, a level of redundancy is nice to have.
Would it be possible to have an optional second controller interface in the firmware, enabling each ESP8266 to upload, or to be controlled, to/from the 2 controllers? In other words, redundant interfacing between the controllers and at the sensors/actuators.
Obvious implications are e.g. second IP-set and second IDX-setting (related to the 2nd controller), and setting the second interface at lower priority than the prime interface.

Hi,Ton_vN wrote:..... second controller interface ......
yr wish are allways reality, ..... but not in the old ESP easy,
take a look to the new one, called ESP Easy Mega,

u find it in the experimental corner:
viewforum.php?f=18
since R148 u can see it there, ........ and it runs.
best wishes

PS: don´t forget to change the compile settings to 4M- !!! 1M SPIFFS !!!,
this pushes our Sketch Limit from 500K to 1,5M,
and that´s the reason for the new one, we had reached the old limit.
BTW: one Chinese had sold me ESP-12E with 8MB, is there a way to setup these feature in the arduino IDE?
If i prog it via 4MB, ESP Easy Mega says 4MB, i´m not shure what flash is soldered on it.
Re: Wish - Dual Controller-interface
Thanks!
Just starting application of ESP8266s with ESPEasy, and therefore committed to the latest stable release R120.
Once I have more experience will go for the beta-releases.
Related Newbie-questions:
1) is somewhere a survey of the changes per release?
2) the wiki-page tells that installing of ESPEasy Mega requires a complete (re)setting.
Somewhere in planning that the settings remain resident over the installation of an update-release?

Yes, read theTon_vN wrote:.... 1) is somewhere a survey of the changes per release? .....
ESP Easy: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEas ... eNotes.ino
ESP Easy Mega: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEas ... eNotes.ino
but don´t forget that´s in the Mega Part the Rev. 148 is the first one
In the MEGA Version the setings are stored in the SPIFFS Area, and that ist the reason why they use a new format regarding the settings file.Ton_vN wrote:.... requires a complete (re)setting. ..... resident over the installation..
Old was a .txt, new is called a .dat.
Nice were a converting prog, ...... is there somebody out there??????
Normally u don´t have to upload the settings when u did a firmware update, it´s running fine.
best wishes
