ESP8266 based WordClock

#1 Post by Martinus » 21 Dec 2015, 00:14

Because Remco called me about this forgotten project, I decided to port the original Arduino Pro Mini code to native ESP.
Currently it's only basic time display because the original fastled library was not available for ESP platform and it needs some more work to adapt. But I've managed to switch the bare basics to Adafruit Neopixel library and it's working again.

So now we have a Wifi Wordclock using 114 Neopixel LED's (WS2812) that retrieves the current time from the internet using NTP.

Ok, it's in dutch, but I think you get the message (or time)...

(But I have to be honest, I only took the picture  , most of the work is done by Remco :ugeek: and John :geek: )

Hi !

Just working on a RGB WLAN Lamp based on ESPEasy. And it uses also WS2812 stripes ...
I think there is a lot of code you can reuse

But need to finish it - hopefully at weekend ...

Dominik
