couldn't flash esp 07

#1 Post by Heuberg » 09 Dec 2016, 15:41

Hello,

I have the esp 8266 01 already in use and it functions perfectly. :)

Now I want to use the version 07, but i can't flash the firmware. :(

This is my ESP on a PCB to connect it with jumper cables:

I soldered a 10k resistor between VCC and EN to enable the ESP without a jumper.

My programmer is a USBtoESP8266 (for the 01 version board):

This is the chematic i used:

Then it looks like this:

The Software i used is the CMD based "flash.cmd" whitch come with the Build 145.
I have already tried the arduino ide and other flasher, but always with the same result. :(

To startup the ESP I used this mapping:

PIN
VCC VCC (3.3V)
GND GND
GPIO0 PullUp
GPIO15 PullDown
CH_PD PullUp

Has Someone an idea what I make wrong or can do better? :?:

I just flashed an ESP 07 today.

what I did
connected 3,3V to VCC and EN
grounded GND GPIO15 & GPIO00

flased the firmware with the provided flasher, make sure you have the correct port & flash size (1M for esp07).

hope it helps.

Hi,

I got it :D

Just forget resistor on reset.

Now the esp is running nicely.
