MQTT best option?

Hi,

I have an esp8266 running espeasy watching a contact closure on a door. (LIkely I will have more in future, monitoring various physical parameters around the place.)

I'd like to log the switch closure events to a .csv file on an RPi on my network.

Is there a better / simpler option than MQTT? Thoughts or advice?
