Reset the ESP by a rule

I have one of my many ESPEasy-Setups running just to remotely turn on a fan for a few minutes (bath)
Unfortunately, this one looses connection after a few days
The strange thing, it doesn´t span it´s own network then, just gone.
A power reset brings it back alive
(I´m running V147)

My idea now, reset it by a rule like every 2 hours, what do you think?

I'm not sure a reboot every 2h is a solution that can work.
- it can reboot the module while the fan is working and I don't consider this acceptable (but that is me and how I see the automation system)
- depending on various factors ESPEasy takes anyhow several seconds to reboot, this means you could not have a reactive action when needed (turning on the fan)
- this behaviour is a symptom of an issue (most probably hardware but not 100% sure)
- then if you still want to use the "easy" solution I would suggest the usage of an external watchdog (it's easy to build with few very common components) that will reset the module only when it becomes non-responsive or under specific conditions

Agree with papperone.

It might be possible to reset the ESP automatically but that's just a second class remedy.
There is an issue definitely.

As long as it runs check the free memory now and then - if it is permanently
decreasing there is a bug somewhere in the software. But I don't think so.

As you switch a fan it's more likely there is a problem from power supply,
getting spikes from the relay or the fan motor now and then. The ESP
(and many other devices) are somewhat sensitive at this point.
This is the reason in many cases if strange behaviour occurs.

Can you give some more info? Schematic? Picture(s)?
It's diffcult to help with no knowledge about the setup.
