Working unit suddenly unreachable

#1 Post by budman1758 » 11 Jun 2017, 04:14

Hello. This is making me crazy. Hope some help is out there. :?: :?:

Last night I had a couple units that are mounted inside of ceiling lights suddenly "disappear" from the network and node list. These 2 units have been working flawlessly for better than 3 weeks. All of a sudden they were not responding and after rebooting them several times with no change I started looking in my WIFI list on my laptop and it appears they switched into AP mode. The units were called "Lite-4" and "Lite-5". Now I have "ESP_4" and "ESP_5" in my available wireless network list. Both are "Secured" and ask for a password and I cannot connect to either of them. Tried the password for my Wifi and no luck. Both of these had static ip addresses (all of my units set this way).

Have had this happen randomly to others during setup and development before also. These 2 in particular are flashed with Dev 7" and are ESP-01 modules. Hoping to not have to take them out of the ceiling lites to fix this. Any ideas? Thanks for any help and\or pointers.

The AP setup has a standard password "configesp".
Before dismounting try that password.

Moot point now. Units have been reprogrammed.

Can you connect them with usb cable to a laptop?
Open serial monitor (arduino IDE) and reconfigure?

"WifiKey yoursecretkey"
“Wificonnect”

I did not try that. I just reflashed them and reprogrammed them. All they do it control a light so its not a real big deal. Strange though..... :?: :?: :?:
