Value conversion MQTT Openhab Help

#1 Post by 1968neil » 24 Jan 2018, 15:41

Hi all,
I am pretty new to this and i have an openhab system up and running after many hours of trial and error.
I have installed espeasy(mega) on all of my sensors and all works well.
The issue i'm having is using switch inputs, i have figured out that the esp device sends a 1 or a 0 and what i need is an Open or Closed for it to work in Openhab.
I'm using door and window contacts for the security system.
Is there any way around this from the ESP end of things ?

The espeasy platform is brilliant, so easy to work with and with sensors in place, keep up the good work ;)
Many Thanks in advance.....

Kind Regards

You can do it in rules with the Publish command.

sorry to be pain could you give me an example ?
Ive spent ages trawling thru the rules an cant figure it out, it looks like openhab needs to see OPEN and CLOSED instead of 1 or 0

I have also tried the map file on openhab to no avail. if i send a message from MQTTFX with OPEN or CLOSED its works fine !

Im pulling my hair out !

Regards
Neil
