Cannot login to ESPEasy

#1 Post by ulfh2018 » 27 Feb 2018, 17:04

I have an ESP8266 unit which seems to have a serious problem. I'm able to download different versions of ESPEasy to it using serial connection, but I'm not able to login to it via the network. If I use version 2.* I'm able to send serial commands setting up Wifi. I can see it is connected, but when I try to connect using the web interface, it will show the /login screen, but I will never be asked for a passwor and cannot login. Setting a passwor manual using the serial interface does not solve the problem

I have tried several differen versions, resetting the system etc.

Any good advice, or should I just declare the unit dead an burry it?

30+ ESP units for production and test. Ranging from control of heating equipment, flow sensing, floor temp sensing, energy calculation, floor thermostat, water usage, to an interactive "fun box" for my grandson. Mainly Wemos D1.

Thank you for trying, but I don't even come that far. I just get: xxx.yyy.zzz/login and nothing more, though I can reach it from the serial monitor in the Arduino IDE and send commands that are registered and executed. When I clear the device password, and try to connect, the serial interface will display:

handleroot
done.

That serial output doesn't sound like ESP Easy output. Sure it flashed all right?

Have flashed with latest stable version, which will not accept commands at all, and will not let me start config - just drops connection after a verry short time. Have tried latest version of 2.0*. This will let me execute commands from the terminal window in the Arduino IDE.
I'm using the flash.cmd for R120, and FøasjESP8266.exe for 2.0* - which both gives no errors while running.

Looks like I have a bad case

Sounds like a flash is not taking place at all. Please try another unit and the official flash tool provided with each release.

Which ESP8266 Unit do you use?

Which UART (USB --> TTL) do you use?

It's CH340G - which works great on the other ESPs I have. I start wondering if there might be something wrong with the first blocks of code on the device, and will try to find some safe way to clean. Have tried Reset, but had one device, which would not run on 2.0*, and when I reloaded 1.2 it started erasing from sector 0 up to 1023 (if I do not remember wrong). Afterwords I could install 1.2 again and log in, but 2.0* will not let me log in.

Please also try to figure out what flash chip is used, or just test with the "PUYA" build to see if that will work.

Thanks a lot folks for your patient and contributions. I've decided to scrap the board - cannot wast my life away like this

All the best
