Framed OLED. Write commands?
Wondering if you can write to specific lines on the Framed OLED plugin like you can with the regular OLED.
And if so what the command is.
Framed OLED documentation is a bit thin.

Yes, I plan to make two separate plugin pages. Time is the only thing missing

Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
You sure can... This is how I do it. Just dawned on me... are you looking to do this from rules? If so, I do this:
On Switch#SwitchA Do
If [Switch#SwitchA]=1
OLEDFRAMEDCMD,High
Else
OLEDFRAMEDCMD,Low
Endif
Endon
I have not tried to write a line from rules. but would expect a similar command with an address and contents.

If [Switch#SwitchA]=1
OLEDFRAMEDCMD,High
Else
OLEDFRAMEDCMD,Low
Endif
Endon

Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
So you can turn on or off and change contrast but not write to individual lines from command line or rules?

Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
I have not tried to write this way.
Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
I think you could look at the oledframed.ino file in the source to see the methods. I may be wrong, not a coder but a user.

Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
I'm the same. Looking at code makes my eyes roll back in my head.
I did look through that file and found the on/off commands. Did not see anything about writing to it though. Guess that is not possible......yet.

Re: Framed OLED. Write commands?
There is no write text command for the framed plugin... yet.
A number of issues for the plugin have been added last week, so I guess there will be some changes to that plugin.
One of the things mentioned was to get rid of the "page indicator" and start using those pixels.
And add extra information to the top line (customization string)
And adding write-command was also mentioned.

Related ... where does one ask for features to be added?
With the great Wemos D1 Mini OLED shield the need to set the LCD to 64x48 is there but it can;t be done in the framed OLED device like it can in the non-framed OLED device.

We prefer our users to add features on GitHub since there we got a somewhat working process of handling them. In the forum great ideas tend to get lost in the noise.
