(Solved) Checking on the status of this project

#1 Post by garnold » 17 Jun 2019, 04:05

I stumbled on ESPEasy by accident and really like what I have found! That being said, I'm a little confused on the status of the project. It looks like 2.0 was supposed to be released last year and didn't happen. I truly do not wish any disrespect when i ask if this project is still being supported? I'm rather new to the home automation and micro-controller world and this that ESPEasy would be a great tool for me to use!

It is very much alive and we have been doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes. So head over to GitHub and grab the latest and greatest release: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEasy/releases

Excellent! And you also answered my next question on what build I should install HAHAHA! I spent a bit of last night reading up on all your releases and learned what the naming was all about. I just was not sure if Mega meant a build for the Arduino Mega or not. After further reading I realized it meant "The MEGA Feature Build!". I'll update my NodeMCU to this latest build and start playing around. You folks have done an amazing job with this and I'm excited to start exploring what I can start to do with ESPEasy :-)

I think you're board is equipped with 4MB memory so you should install the 4MB version, use normal with core 252 for the most stable version.

I just flashed the following because I already had it downloaded

ESP_Easy_mega-20190607_dev_ESP8266_4M.bin

I'll change over to the one you recommended.

This firmware is totally amazing and is going to be great for my projects. Coffee on the way till I can be in the position to support at a more regular basis 👍
