WIKI entry. community additions here?

#1 Post by tozett » 26 Jan 2016, 17:27

hi,
i wanted to setup a DS1820b+ and there is a wonderful shematic on the wiki page.
http://www.esp8266.nu/index.php/TemperatureSensor
somehow misleading is the pinout of the DS18b20, as it is not clear if it is bottom or top view.
there are some more distint and helpful pictures on the web ... right place to contribute here?
https://www.google.de/search?q=Dallas+D ... 2&bih=1192
i see immediately the rom-adress of the 1-wire-temp-sensor in the devices webpage, but the temp is not showing up.
how long does this take? mabe a hint in the wiki would be helpful...

Thank you for the comment. I hoped the picture was clear enough, but I shall improve it.

It may take up to a minute (depending on the setting in Config, Sensor delay (60 seconds by default), provided that you have assigned a IDX to the device.
No IDX, no reading.

you are my hero!
idx entered: hurrahhhh!

i dont have domoticz, i have a gira homeserver, and fill it up via UDP/http...
so i thought i dont need idx-values....

default entry in idx was zero, but seems to be that ist must be 1-....

but now it get the temp every 2 seconds, a little bit tooo often..
can i configure this / per sensor....?

In the config page there is the "Sensor Delay" setting, in seconds and it is the same delay for all sensors
You probably have put there a 2

Re: WIKI entry. community additions here? (feature-request for a per-sensor delay)

#5 Post by tozett » 26 Jan 2016, 20:01

thanks,
i did this before, but it affected (seemed to me..??) also the reading of the rfid-reader.
a delay of 60 seconds is still to fast for temperature, but was more than a bit impractical for the door-opening with the reader...
so 1+ as feature-request for a per-sensor delay...
and a 1+ hint for the idx-setting (0= no reading, 1-... start reading)
(edit: was not needed for my switch-devices, so it was not obvious for what the idx-value was needed ... ->do a wiki-hint?)
(edit2: i put an idx-value in the sysinfo-devices an now they are send. hurrahhh!!)
and a 1+ for some automatic for unique idx-numbering (?!)

;-)

but also 1+ thanks for helping

thanks for the roadmap.. ;)
most of IoT-people know this openhab, but the wiki looks to me as a good example structure,
how to discribe plugins and the installation process for newbies...maybe worth to throw an eye to...

http://www.esp8266.nu/forum/viewtopic.p ... &start=160

there are around this forum some good hints, splattered around, so
but maybe helpful not to search the forum, instead have a bug-list,feature-list,wiki-doku?

hi admins,
if the wiki pages are enhanced, maybe a good idea to have a OUTPUT/LED sections
where some solutions are shown RGB/WS2812/mini-pro-Extender/normal LED/...

seems of some interesst by people, it think.

for normal RGB Led, this could be easy build, so maybe show it on the wiki?
