See a fix for my problem but don't know where to get the fix

#1 Post by Loren » 04 Feb 2016, 21:43

Hi,

I'm having the same problem (ESP gets no IP after Reboot) as described in the topic below:
http://www.esp8266.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=458

I can read there are a lot of builds. But unfortunately I don't know where I can find these builds. I can find ESPEasy R048 on http://sourceforge.net/projects/espeasy/files/. Which I assume is build 48? I leak some understanding of these technical computer terms as build.
As the ESPEasy R048 is a stable version, is there also a beta version? I can see there should be a build 76 that would solve my problem, but where can I find this build and what are the risk of trying this build?

Some extra info: I use an ESP8266-12

Tnx in advance.

go to http://www.esp8266.nu scroll to the bottom where you see links for the stable version (which has some known bugs)
and a link to github for the beta versions.

better get firmware versions directly from github. hope you know how to download github repositories.

https://github.com/ESP8266nu/ESPEasy/bl ... eNotes.ino

if you did this:
http://www.esp8266.nu/index.php/Tutoria ... are_Upload
you must have an arduino-ide where you can put the github sketch into, and upload the R(elaes)-versions from the github repository.

at the moment i think i dont make a screenshot to show how to do it..

press the 'download zip' button I guess?

Yes I followed that Arduino firmware upload. So I download all files and then do what?

if you downloaded the zip from github,
unzip it to a place where you find it again,
there, open the EASEasy.ino with the arduino-ide,
upload with the arduino-ide.

it here in the tutorial (beside the github download and unzip).
hope this helps ;)

Well that helped a lot. Got pretty far but got an error message. Tried to reset the ESP and do upload it again. Still got the same message. Sometimes it uploaded a bit longer or didn't start uploading at all. Maybe this ESP is just broken?
