Unstable syslog-operation
I've a ESP with the Firmware ESP_Easy_mega_20200801_normal_WROOM02_2M256.
If I enable the logging to a syslog-server, the operation of the ESP is very unstable. Reboot's while rule operations and additional reboot's while idle-time. Now I've disabled the logging to the syslog-server again and it's working since 2 days without any reboot.
I'll have a look at it for the next few days... Are there still problems with the syslog-integration?

Re: Unstable syslog-operation
AFAIK, that has been fixed, but I think it was shortly after the release you're using. If you upgrade to the most recent release you should have a much better experience using syslog.

Re: Unstable syslog-operation
I'll watch the ESP for a few more days and then test a newer firmware...
Re: Unstable syslog-operation
IIRC, it was SysLog calling addLog, that is again calling SysLog, thus going into an endless loop/stack overflow/WatchDog intervention => Reboot
So it's not going to cure itself

Re: Unstable syslog-operation
It was a bit more complicated, but in essence it is still a bug that's not going to solve itself indeed.
It needs a firmware update to get it fixed.

Re: Unstable syslog-operation
@TD-er: You mean, I need flash a new Firmware or is the problem still exists and 'we all' need a later firmware?
Re: Unstable syslog-operation
The problem should be fixed in the latest code. So you should try the latest nightly build to see if it is indeed fixed.
What I tried to tell you is that "waiting for a few more days" is not going to change anything unless you update the firmware.

Re: Unstable syslog-operation
I mean, I'll look that there is no other problems and the instability is only because I enabled the syslog and not e.g. the newly added repeater.
