Hello,
I could upload the firmware : ESP_Easy_mega-20200426_normal_ESP8266_4M1M.bin to my D1Mini ESP8266.
After a reset, I also could connect to the IP 192.168.4.1.
I changed the SSID and set the password. The problem after 20s nothing append. I'm still on the IP 192.168.4.1.
What are the possible causes of this problem?
Regards
Otto

After a successful connect attempt it will save the credentials.
I'm working -as we speak- on the setup procedure which is far from perfect.
For now, as you just flashed the unit, I guess you can easily access it via serial.
So then it is the easiest to set the credentials by hand via serial:
Remember you cannot correct a typo via serial, so better copy/paste it from something like notepad.

Code: Select all

It will be much easier if you pick a newer version of ESPEasy to upload, that one is almost 1 year old and many, many, improvements have been made since, especially to the Wi-Fi related stuff.

Re: Wifi Setup Wizard / D1 Mini ESP8266
Hello,
Many thanks for all your information.
I alredy tested the last version from ESPEasy-mega-20210223, but also without success.
I just tested to compile my source version from 04.02.2020 with the help of Arduino. The compiled version is OK.
I also changed to a fixed IP address in the custom.h file.
The first time also did not work.
After a reboot of the device, despite the Fixed IP I had to reconnect on the IP 192.168.4.1.
I reset the device, set again in the WIfi Setup Wizard the SSID and now it's working.
it's hard to understand why now it works!
I spent more than 3 hours looking for solutions.
Regards
Otto

Re: Wifi Setup Wizard / D1 Mini ESP8266
Sad to hear it is taken so long to get it to work, but on the other hand good to know the changes I have been working on the last 2 days is going to be appreciated as I promise you it will be a lot more intuitive in the next nightly build (probably this weekend or Monday)
Still have to test a few more things, but it will be fixed soon.
