which file for OTA update

#1 Post by Sasch600xt » 06 Jul 2021, 20:11

Hello all :),

i would love to do an OTA update for my ESP32 device.

it´s been a while when i did the last update.

i reconized, there are files labeled with A,B,C,D ?

i attache a picure of my actuall firmware.
could you help me find the right firmware ?

question would be, is it also possible to do an OTA update to the "normal" firmware instead of "test" ?
When i started the ESP32 in the past there was only "test" available :)

Thanks for your help :)
Have a great day !

See here for the plugins per build: https://espeasy.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... al-plugins
And I think you should use the builds listed here: https://td-er.nl/ESPEasy/ (files: https://td-er.nl/ESPEasy/static/ )
As long as the flash description is the same, you can exchange "normal" with "testing".
So builds with "4M316k" and not "LittleFS" in their name can be used.
Remember to use the bin files without "factory" in their name for OTA updates.

It may depend on the actual plugins you are using. If they are all in the 'Normal' set of plugins, then you can (obviously) use a 'normal' build, but if any of the plugins you use is in the 'Testing' set, or specifically 'Testing A, B, C or D' then that type of bin file should be used or your setup won't work as expected.

For ESP32 there is no real reason to use a 'normal' over a 'testing' build, as all 'normal' plugins are also included in any 'testing' builds.
