Rain Sensor MH-RD

#1 Post by remo » 08 Jul 2021, 13:40

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the board and just wanted to ask something.

I'd like to realize a Rain Sensor with ESP8266 and MH-RD Sensor (https://www.az-delivery.de/products/regen-sensor-modul).

Is there any Device Template in ESPEasy I can use?
And do I need a pullup resistor?

I found a post (viewtopic.php?t=189)
but that seems to be old and not the perfect solution.

Another ESPEasy is already running with Temp Sensor connected to FHEM.
So I'm not a complete noob ;)

Any help appreciated.

When using the digital output, just configure a Switch task for the GPIO use, and respond as required.
When using the Analog output, depending on the range of the output voltage (couldn't find the range in the link) and the ESP board you are using (some boards allow 0-3.3V others only 0-1V on the analog input, so a voltage divider may be needed (2 resistors should do)), you should use an analog input task. Then you shouldn't use a build having VCC in the name, as these have the analog input configured to measure the ESP VCC voltage, so it can't be used for the analog input task.

Thank you for your reply.
Digital is working now.
Rain 1 or 0.
I used a 4,7k resistor between data out and +

So, I also can run this setup in analog mode?
How about resistor then?

Will leave it in digital mode now.
Rain ON or OFF - I don‘t need more.
Works fine.

Thank you!
