Hello all,

I just received 2 of this units. My first impressions

- Load ESPEasy R106 without any problems.
- The built quality is very similar to Sonoff hardware.
- It has 2 relays on board (only NO contacts)
- It has a 12 pin header with most GPIO exposed.
- There is a place to connect a DHT22. You need to solder a 4 pin head.
- The device is enclosed in plastic case without any logo. The size is very similar to Sonoff.

Just now, I have these 2 device up and running in order to do a burning out test. If they work as expected, i think that this device could be better option than Sonoff. Also, it is cheaper, US$6.00.

I will keep all of you informed.....

Very interesting board... inexpensive, and saves me having to make the same thing out of several separately-sourced components. I'd be interested to know how others fare with it.

It's a pity that they charge extra for shipping. I can get a Sonoff at Ali for $7. Of course the Sonoff has a single relay, this board has a double.
Hope it will be in Ali shop over time.

Hi grz3,

Just now, I don't have any I2C device available but, as soon as I get one, I will test it and tell you the results.....

I received this device yesterday, and I am not that impressed...

First thing I saw, was that only one connector for the two relays could actually be accessed, to reach the other you have to modify the case, and even take it apart to reach the screw to secure the wire in the terminal.

All screws to hold the two end pieces together were lose in the bag, and I thought they had forgotten one, because I only found three. Turns out the last had gotten into the box, and had gotten stuck, so it didn't rattle when I was shaking it to hear if it was in there. Could have turned out ugly if I decided to just supply mains to it before taking it apart.

After that I took the pcb out, and the terminal for mains in fell off, they simply forgot to solder it.

Last thing I don't like, is that they don't clearly specify how much current it can handle, they only give what the relays are rated for, which would be 5000W (250V~ 10A), but first off the terminals used, does not look like they are rated for anywhere near that. Secondly, when looking at the traces carrying the current from the input terminal, to the relays, and out again, are not big enough to carry that amount of current either, not even half.

Flashing the ESP8266 went pretty smooth, and I had ESP Easy up and running within minutes. But things like the case not being properly designed (they most likely just used some generic case), and no clear specifications and with the listed specs being far from what anyone should try to draw through it, just makes me feel like they didn't really put any passion into it.

Comparing this to the Sonoff, I like the Sonoff better. The reason for this is that the Sonoff got a very nice case, which fit the application perfectly. They clearly rate it at 90-250VAC 10A, and on the inside the traces are wide, and covered with extra tin to bump its current capacity up.

Thanks for the review and the heads-up over quality! Looks like I'm going to stick to building my own with the help of my tame electrician... :)
