Konke Smart MiniK socket

#1 Post by bertrand » 30 Jun 2016, 20:06

Hi Guys,

So there is a stupid cheap sale on Konke Smart MiniK on Taobao (39 CNY) so I ordered some this week. For sure they work well with their original app (some network delay), but my purpose wasn't much the stock firmware.

http://www.cnx-software.com/2015/11/08/ ... p8266-soc/

As shown here, it is using an ESP8266 chip and most people from the Konke Google Group https://plus.google.com/communities/115 ... 1565782559 complains that there's no hack.

I found this page in Chinese, where the guy totally reversed engineered the unit: http://wiki.jackslab.org/Hack_mini_K Once translated in English (thanks Chrome) you learn that you can reflash the stock firmware and put what you need... but if we can change the flash to 4MB, that would be better...

So here is my idea:
  • open the MiniK
    change the memory
    reflash it to ESPEasy
    close the MiniK
Enjoy the cutest smart power plug you ever seen in Domoticz for 6 EUR !

As I read the documentation, there is a 8Mbit flash chip onboard. This is 1 MByte which is good for ESPEasy including the flash-OTA.
So in my opinion there is no need to replace the memory chip for easy working with ESPEasy.

I think we are still waiting for a cheap small board to replace existing AC switches that can be build inside/under an existing switch.
Also the Mini-K price , as found on Ebay/Aliexpress is not attractive. It is not 6 Euro but more like 12 euro.

I got my hands on one and cut a small hole in the bottom to acess the PCB as in the picture, I have reflashed it with espeasy several times, the flash tool says it's been flashed sucsessfully but it refuses to boot after a re-flash. don't get any communication over the serial port after a flash.
Any ideas?

Cheers,

Fraser

Could it be that you have to flash it in a differt way, that was also the case with my sonoff modules.

IT Worked!!!!! Thanks Arnoldg! Used the flash tool with all the settings as shown here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3386&hilit=DOUT&start=10#p18240.

Now running Esp-easy 2 dev 11 normal,1024. Gpio 15 is the relay and red LED,Gpio 3 is the blue led (which is on when the gpio is off), and the button is Gpio 12.

So Happy, these are a really compact and neat switch unit!!!
