Prepaid card, GSM module and a sonoff wifi switch/relais and you have a complete solution for less than US$ 8.00 !!

These run on 3.3V, provide a serial port and are configured by common AT commands.
Sounds ideal for ESP easy. How can I make use of them with an ESP module? I'd like to
trigger a switch with a SMS.

Can this be accomplished with just a set of rules?

afaik the Sonoff POW device does NOT support GSM connection... I can guess what banggood write is wrong!

Hmmm, I thought it is a new product... But now that you mention it, I had a closer look at the pcb and there is indeed no gsm module visible.
