Sonoff basic with wall switch

#1 Post by remko2000 » 16 Feb 2018, 16:06

I want to controll my sonoff with esp easy 2.2 also control with my wall switch witch gpio14. So i connect it with gpio14 and ground and submit a switch on port gpio14 in the espeasy GUI. Nothing happened when i flip the hardwareswitch. What am I doing wrong?

You must write some "Rules" to ESPeasy.

Something like this:

Code: Select all

on lamp_on do
    gpio,12,1
    gpio,13,0
endon

on lamp_off do
    gpio,12,0
    gpio,13,1
endon

on lamp_change do
  if [rele#Switch]=1
    event,lamp_off
    SendToHTTP 192.168.1.253,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=19&switchcmd=Off
  else
    event,lamp_on
    SendToHTTP 192.168.1.253,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=19&switchcmd=On
  endif
endon

on SW01#Switch do
  event,lamp_change
endon
Local switch is defined like SW01#Switch

With this program, you can control your sonoff by local switch, by switch on others ESPeasys by sending event "lamp_change"
In this cases state of relay is reported to Domoticz, so Domoticz dashboard switch state corresponds actual state of relay.
And you can control relay from Domoticz by sending events "lamp_off" and "lamp_on

Or right thanx for your reaction. I tried this script. What have I done:
In de GUI ESP easy I submit two task under 'devices' of my sonoff:
1 switch GPIO12, IDX 1266, called 'rele' '
and
1 switch GPIO14, IDX 1, called ' SW01'

In Domoticx I submit a virtual switch with IDX1266.

Now I used the script above and make some changes:

Code: Select all

on lamp_on do
    gpio,12,1
    gpio,13,0
endon

on lamp_off do
    gpio,12,0
    gpio,13,1
endon

on lamp_change do
  if [rele#Switch]=1
    event,lamp_off
    SendToHTTP 10.0.1.32,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=1266&switchcmd=Off
  else
    event,lamp_on
    SendToHTTP 10.0.1.32,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=1266&switchcmd=On
  endif
endon

on SW01#Switch do
  event,lamp_change
endon
The IP is the IP of domiticz.

I have tried the wall switch but the lamp goes on but also immediately off. The same happens when I use the virtual switch in domoticz. What I'm doing wrong?

Only 1 device is needed in ESPeasy (SW01) and a controller setup for Domoticz (HTTP or MQTT). Then you can use this rule...

on SW01#Switch do
if [SW01#Switch]=0
gpio,12,0
gpio,13,1
else
gpio,12,1
gpio,13,0
endif
endon

I tried your script Vader and use one device SW01 in the GUI ESP but this doesnt work. The domoticz switch doesnt work at all and the wallswitch works sometimes.

What build of ESPeasy are you running?
And perhaps add some screenshots of the settings page regarding the switch.

What version of the source did you use?
There is no build 2-2 See: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEasy/releases

Just to make sure, can you open de settings page of both switches, set them to the switch (not dimmer) and submit to save the settings.
Of use the latest source or released build.

It' s version 2.0.
Both switches are normal switches:

When I use the domoticzswitch I hear switch the sonoffrelay but not one time but a couple of times.

OK, let me rephrase my question, what version of the sourcecode did you use.
There have been some changes in the switch plugin code. So I need to make sure you're running on the latest version of the source code.
And did you open the page with the switch settings, set the switch type to "switch" (other selection is "dimmer") and save the settings? (or even try to set it to dimmer and then set it again to switch and save in between)

OK, that's quite an old version.
The year 2016 is not even mentioned anymore in the current release notes. https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEas ... _notes.txt

I think it is best if you test a newer version. In 14 months a lot has been fixed.
You can try the pre built versions. See: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEasy/releases

Perhaps also make a backup of your settings first in case you want to go back to the previous version.

Or right. It takes me the hole morning tot update the sonoff with the newest espsoftware and no succes. All the different versions maks me crazy. I used

Aduino IDE 1.8.4 (also tried 1.8.5)
ESP Release v2.0-20180218 (latest)
A Sonoff Basic (recent)
Board: ESP8266 version 2.3.0 (when I update this to latest 2.4.0. I get a message that only 2.3.0 is supported)

Are these the correct latest version which are compatible?

I coppied the content of the libfolder from ESP-folder to the Arduino IDE librariesfolder.
I use a Macbook to flash the sonoff with a USBtoUART.

Now I get some failures in IDE:

Code: Select all

Arduino: 1.8.4 (Mac OS X), Board:"Generic ESP8266 Module, 80 MHz, 40MHz, DOUT, 115200, 1M (128K SPIFFS), ck, Disabled, None"

Why not simply testing with a pre-built binary first to see if the problems you had were actually fixed?
Then you don't have to change a lot to your dev environment.

Re: Sonoff basic with wall switch

#17 Post by remko2000 » 18 Feb 2018, 16:03

I tried this with my terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo python esptool.py --baud 115200 --port /dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART write_flash -fm dout 0x00000 ~/Downloads/ESP_Easy_v2.0-20180218_dev_ESP8266_1024.bin
The flash has succeeded but no esp_0.
Because I have previously experienced this I read a tip that I can solve this by flashing with the Arduino IDE. But this now also causes problems. Do I not do flashing via the terminal properly? Is there another simple way to easily flash with a mac without problems with no esp_0 on a sonoff?

Are you sure the Sonoff has an ESP8266 and not an ESP8285?
There is a pre-built version for that chip too.

No I think it is a normal 8266 chip, my terminal says:

Code: Select all

Chip is ESP8266EX
when I try to flash it with a prebuild 8285 version.

You must set correct switch mode in ESPeasy.
"Switch Button Type: Normal Switch or Push Button
It depends on your mechanical switch type.
If you have got push button, select Push Button and then each press of switch changes relay state.
If You have got ON/OFF switch, select normal switch and then each change of state this switch will change state of relay.

And on ESPeasy uncheck "send to controller" on relay device.
Do not write IDX there, its not needed, you send command via http request.

And on Domoticz side:
Dom_01.png
Dom_01.png (319.53 KiB) Viewed 18474 times
If you have god checked send to controller, there will be some message pingpong between Domoticz and ESPEasy.

With my setup, if you switch relay in Domoticz, ESPeasy will set GPIO and do nothing.
If you press switch on ESPeasy ( sonoff ), ESPeasy sets GPIO and sends relay state to Domoticz.
And Domoticz in this moment sends back relay state to ESPeasy, but it is previously set to the same value, so it is not too wrong.

I have finally been able to flash the latest build (v2.0-20180220) on my sonoff basic.
Now I can continue with the actual problem.
If I want to switch my sonoff the signal seems to be pingpong so the sonoff switches on and off several times.
What have I done now:
I have 1 virtual switch in domoticz with on-off action:
-http://10.0.1.39/control?cmd=event,lamp_off

In the ESP software I added two devices for my sonoff. 1 for GPIO-12 (called 'rele') and 1 for GPIO-14 (called ' SW01).

On the GPIO12 I connected a light. Image

On the GPIO14 I connected a normal wall switch (to my light) to ground and GPIO12 of my sonoff.

As a rule I added:

Code: Select all

on lamp_on do
    gpio,12,1
    gpio,13,0
endon

on lamp_off do
    gpio,12,0
    gpio,13,1
endon

on lamp_change do
  if [rele#Switch]=1
    event,lamp_off
    SendToHTTP 10.0.1.32,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=1266&switchcmd=Off
  else
    event,lamp_on
    SendToHTTP 10.0.1.32,8080,/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=1266&switchcmd=On
  endif
endon

on SW01#Switch do
  event,lamp_change
endon
What I'm trying to achieve is that I can operate my light with the wall switch, but also from domoticz.

My gueass is that the rule isn't right and that's wy the signal pingpong but I can not figure it out. Can please someone help me?

After some googling, I found out that a 10K resistance between GPIO14 and 3.3V could help. I have tried this and indeed it works perfectly now. Code is also correct. I can switch my lamp both with my wall switch and via domiticz and the status is perefect kept in domoticz.

Or enable internal pullup on SW01 device tab.
