I have moved the discussion from ESP Releases topic, because I would like to find out the actual purpose of this gadget.Ger wrote:The ADS1115 is a 16 bit AD converter with four input channels and programmable gain amplifier.
Gain Fulscale voltage
2/3 6.144V
1 4.096V
2 2.048V
4 1.024V
8 0.512V
16 0.256V
In no event the input voltage should more than VDD + 0.3 V be applied to this device.

ADS1115 - purpose?

Re: ADS1115 - purpose?
I am using it for MQ series gassensors.
It cost a little bit more as the PCF8591 but it is 16 bit and it has gain options.

Re: ADS1115 - purpose?
Good to know. Do you find those MQ gas sensors reliable? Have you tested them with specific gases? I have seen info, they give a lot of fake issues and they do not detect the correct gasses, so first hand opinion would be really valuable.Ger wrote:I am using it for MQ series gassensors.

Re: ADS1115 - purpose?
I don't know how reliable they are, they are very cheap, I have ordered them at AliExpress
I wouldn't use them as a reliable alarm.
I am going to use them to monitor the air quality in different rooms.
At the moment I just have one active in a experimental state in the living room.
I don't think you can use them to reliable distinguish different types of gases or exact values.

Re: ADS1115 - purpose?
ADS1115 is verry usefull and stable ADC converter, I'm using it for monitoring a small solar panel output.
On port 0 - Voltage on port 1 - current via ADS712-5A and a lot of calculations
The problem is that there is a bug - ESP Easy reports only first port value (port 0) to thingspeak. The other ports are readed fine but not reported.

Re: ADS1115 - purpose?
I am using the ADC with 3 sensors and Domoticz and have no problem.
Maybe someone has ideas?
