Sonoff pow r2 v1.0 2017-11-30

#1 Post by jjackr » 25 Nov 2018, 20:38

Hi All
I bought p2 pow r2 v1.0 of 30 11 2017 and I have trouble to flash. Either I do not have wifi AP, or no power failure possible because loss of settings or no consumption supervision!
After many many tests, the best firmware that works for me is ESP_Easy_mega-20181110_test_ESP8266_4096_VCC.bin but but no energy management!
Which firmware to install for this pow r2 works well??

Hi,

you're not alone. I did open already an issue on github smoe time ago, but there seems to be no further progress.

As documented in the issue request I got it working by flashing at first a normal build and afterwards flashing the build for SONOFF POW R2 1024M. What a pity that following this way its not possible to use OTA.

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ man woman
No manual entry for woman
pi@raspberrypi:~ $

Hi Wiki
You are right ! When I flash with a firmware that keeps the settings and directly after without blank I flash with ESP_Easy_mega20181101_hard_SONOFF_POW_R2_4M.bin (because for me it's sonoff pow r2!) So everything works! Weird! Thank you

Good to hear that the workaround was successful.

Since 28th of nov. there is a new build in the nightly release. Using the ESP_Easy_mega-yyyymmdd_hard_SONOFF_POW_4M.bin you are able to flash the POW instantly. After flashing connect to the device either by serial connection or using the AP functionality following the procedure:
- configure your desired wifi network for the POW using the Web GUI or by using serial connection and save it
- reboot
- reconnect and go to Tools/Factory Reset
- check the boxes, which settings already configured to keep
- choose the desired/needed pre-defined config
- hit the button "Save Preferences"
- reboot and you're done with the hardware and devices settings you need

A perfect job done by TD-er, Thanks for that. Documentation about this new feature you'll find here.

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ man woman
No manual entry for woman
pi@raspberrypi:~ $
