ESP32 CAM
Hi guys,
I started playing with those guys using the example of the manufacturer. (check attached pic)
You got a IP cam for less than 7€.
Anyone else ?
I don't know how to integrate the stream into Domoticz, the software only allows one stream at a time so it's complicated.
OTOH, this comes with face recognition.
What do you think ?

Re: ESP32 CAM
It's pretty impressive. Something like this will be possible in future ESP Easy versions. Maybe publish face ID etc.
ESP Easy Flasher [flash tool and wifi setup at flash time]
ESP Easy Webdumper [easy screendumping of your units]
ESP Easy Netscan [find units]

Looks good, and a nice price for the whole set.

Re: ESP32 CAM
Have here also an ESP32 Cam as test and works within Domoticz.
Just add the following Cam:
IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Port: 80
Protocol: Http
Image URL: capture?_cb=
Make sure you first have set the resolution on the web interface (for example 1024x768)
After reboot it jumps back to 320x240.
It's fun and works quite ok with Daylight but when it gets dark it's rubbish and you see why it's so cheap

Re: ESP32 CAM
Worked !!! Thank you immensely.
It's 9pm here and a bit dark, quality is 2MP and not really happy in darkness but hey, for 6€ you can't complain.

Re: ESP32 CAM
I'm trying this model, received today :
https://github.com/LilyGO/ESP32-Camera
Connecting to its AP (pwd 12345678) and going to 192.168.1.1 gives you a simple picture. The device came with a fish-eye lens. Quality of the picture is bad and frame-rate is 1fps. Maybe it's the example and the lens needs adjusting; dunno.
Impossible to program though, got the ....____....____ can't connect error. I've seen a workaround connecting a capacitor between EN & GND but... erm... where is that for this board ?

Re: ESP32 CAM
Are there any plans or activities for an ESPeasy plugin to support ESP32-cam?
Re: ESP32 CAM
No activities I am aware of.
The same for plans to integrate it.
For example, I don't know yet what kind of output it should give.
I think it should be something like a plugin only accepting commands and maybe send some events if something is recognized?

Re: ESP32 CAM
I could think of a generic plugin to get the cam working as cam settings are done via the frontend of the cam.
Would this mean 2 webservers? hm...

Re: ESP32 CAM
Considering the price, I think it'll be worth it. Even if we need to compile it or a discreet release.

Re: ESP32 CAM
just got my ESP32 cam 2 days ago.
In general I really like it, and I think there might be some nice project ideas coming up.
What I currently do not like, the version I purchased has no USB like D1 mini, so power is an issue.
Connecting external antenna is a bit tricky.
No nightview, as not IR LED and no IRcut.
Built in LED flash does not work with standard Arduino IDE setup.
But there is a project for this:
https://github.com/xenpac/ESP32-CAM-with-LED-control
Standard setup does not provide multi client streaming support.
But there is a project for this:
https://github.com/arkhipenko/esp32-cam ... ulticlient
Would be great to have both projects combined...
For ESPeasy I could think of the following:
- having a generic plugin with some basic options, not all possible I really need, leave most of them in auto mode
- having a video stream for multi clients
- option for free GPIO usage, eg PIR sensor triggering
As I am not a developer I can only provide some ideas and hoping somebody with skills will pickup the idea...
